Transfer your games and saves while you can because Google Stadia is closing soon

On January 18th, Google’s cloud gaming service Stadia will be permanently discontinued. (More specifically, January 18 at 11:59PM PT, as verified to The Verge by Google’s representative Patrick Seybold.) Even while the closure will prevent you from accessing your games and saves on Stadia, several developers have provided information on how to transfer your purchases and progress to other platforms.

We’ve included a few of them here; if you’re hoping to salvage anything, now is the time to get moving on it. Email me if I missed any!

Additionally, Google will be refunding any Google Play Store and Stadia Store purchases of both software and hardware. Keep an eye on your email for confirmation; the business started processing refunds in November and anticipates processing the “bulk” of reimbursements by January 18th.
